Morgan Penn
Morgan Penn is an English portrait painter based in Chelsea London. He is completely self taught artist and is often referred to as the British Norman Rockwell. He is well known for an unusual and quirky approach to portrait painting and his loud opinions on the established London Art Institutions. His talents are highly sought after, as his clients adore the fact that Morgan will always produce a unique masterpiece. He recently appeared as a featured artist on Star Portraits with Rolf Harris where he painted Adrian Edmonson with an exploded cigar. It was then toured around the country as part of the hugely successful Star Portraits Exhibition, places included London City Hall next to the London Eye, New Walk Gallery, Leicester, Naughton Gallery, Belfast and Shipley Gallery, Gateshead. His painting was the one that was chosen to be hung in Adrians and Jennifer Saunders farm.
Other famous clients include Jay Kay from Jamiroquai and Johnny Vegas.
Johnny features in the painting ‘They Who Dare’ which show three men trundling around in a white van learing at women. Jay Kay was painted in the muddy morass that was Passchendaele with the Playgirl Jodi Oram across his lap. Morgans favourite artists include Mike McMahon, Jim Murray, Norman Rockwell, Simon Bisley and Trevor Chamberlain. The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Society of British Artists, Discerning Eye, Hunting Art Prize, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The BP Awards at the National Portrait Gallery and the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy are a few of the annual art exhibitions that morgan submits to each year. He uses old rags and occassionally a palette knife for the majority of the canvas and only uses brushes for the final touches. This is to make sure that he doesn’t fuss over detail too soon. With his taste for hard cash and an inability to say “no”...
it is time... to “Get Involved”
